Cobar is a rural mining community located in western New South Wales, far removed from the hustle and bustle of city living. Council owns and operates the Cobar Shire & TAFE Library, Great Cobar Heritage Centre, Lilliane Brady Village (aged care facility), Children's Services, Youth & Fitness Centre as well as works depots in Euabalong and Cobar.

ABOUT YOU

Your expertise in the management of information technology combined with your ability to work semi-autonomously with minimal guidance whilst identifying opportunities for improvement and providing workable solutions will ensure your success in this role.

Our ideal candidate would be a motivated, naturally innovative, customer-focused individual with a positive attitude and the demonstrated experience managing the delivery of information technology services within a corporate environment. We are looking for a strong leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical people.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Key responsibilities include ensuring the security, availability and integrity of data, network access, backup systems and disaster recovery plans; overseeing the delivery of helpdesk services; managing and improving the information and operation technology services across the organisation; and sustaining a quality service by managing current and future business needs.

A total remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, dependant on skills, experience and qualifications including an annual salary range of $100,000-$120,000 plus superannuation and may also include relocation assistance, housing subsidy and leaseback vehicle.
