ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a qualified and capable individual with exceptional time management skills and the proven ability to drive high-performance and innovation. As a qualified planner, you will have an outstanding track record in delivering exceptional service, whilst employing a continuous improvement approach to making timely decisions for Council and our community. 

Our ideal candidate would be a motivated, customer-focused individual, a critical thinker with a 'can-do' attitude. As an excellent communicator who can build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, you will have demonstrated experience negotiating positive outcomes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director Planning & Environmental Services, this position contributes to actively managing the growth of the Cobar Local Government Area through effective development assessment and strategic planning, processing a variety of complex applications and acting as the gatekeeper for the scrutiny and initial assessment of all development applications of a planning nature. 

You will need to understand the challenges facing our region 

The remuneration will be negotiated with the successful candidate, dependent on qualifications, skills, and experience, with a salary range of $105,000 - $121,000 (plus superannuation) under Council's salary system, working a 9-day fortnight, 35 hours a week.
