ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a well organised, detail oriented, agile, and competent individual with strong analytical and problem solving skills who is calm under pressure. Your previous experience preparing and processing high volume transactions in an environment of competing priorities and tight deadlines without compromising on the quality of work or service will see you succeed in this role.

The successful candidate will value honesty and be ethical and professional when undertaking all aspects of the role, capably building strong relationships with key stakeholders. You will have impeccable confidentiality and attention to detail with the ability to follow through and take responsibility for your own actions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Payroll Officer is responsible for managing the end to end fortnightly payroll process and delivering an excellent customer experience for employees. You will need to demonstrate your capacity to learn and embrace new systems as Council embarks on the implementation of a new ERP system early in 2022.

In addition to managing payroll compliance for the business, this role will provide assistance to the Human Resources department including recruitment, learning and development, injury management, policy review, employee engagement, and general administration.

This position has been classified as Band 2 Level 3 ($40.92 - $47.38) under Council's salary system, with employment terms and conditions in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, working a nine-day fortnight, 35 hours a week.
