Cobar is a rural mining community located in far western New South Wales. Our shire is one of the largest in the state, spanning over 44,000 square kilometres.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Utilities and Environment, our preferred candidate will lead our operational crews, coordinating the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance works, providing high-quality technical support, and assisting with our capital projects. The successful candidate will be someone who not only knows the way, but can effectively show others the way. Duties will include people management, daily operational oversight, asset inspections, and the planning and scheduling of construction and maintenance programs.
This full-time position is classified as Band 3 Level 3 within Council's salary system, with a salary ranging between $92,000 - $107,000 dependent on the qualifications and experience of the candidate in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, working a nine-day fortnight, 38 hours per week.
