Role Overview:

As a Livestock Handler at our Processing Plant near Grantham in the Lockyer Valley, you will play a vital role in our high-volume food manufacturing operations.  You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient handling of livestock, contributing to plant availability and reliability.  Your duties will include unloading livestock trucks, drafting and penning animals, conducting paddock mustering and maintaining accurate records of livestock health and welfare. You will work closely with a dedicated team, utilising your animal husbandry skills to support the well-being of our livestock while ensuring compliance with industry standards.  This role is crucial to our commitment to quality and efficiency, and you will be a key player in helping us achieve our operational goals.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Unload livestock trucks.
  • Draft and Pen livestock.
  • Conduct paddock mustering using side by side vehicles.
  • Accurately count and record livestock.
  • Perform data entry tasks related to inventory and health records.
  • Monitor and manage the health and welfare of animals.
  • Feed livestock and ensure their well-being.

About You:

  • Experienced in general animal husbandry.
  • Ability to accurately count stock in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft office programs.
  • Strong record keeping and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Quick problem-solving abilities to address challenges as they arise.
  • Positive attitude and a task-oriented approach.
