Your Role
As Governess at Donors Hill Station, you will be responsible for supporting the education and daily routine of three school-aged children undertaking distance education, as well as assisting with the care and development of one two-year-old child.
This is a hands-on, family-based role suited to someone who enjoys working with children, values structure and routine, and is comfortable living and working in a remote station environment. You will work closely with the parents to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning space.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting daily distance education and lesson plans for three school-aged children (yr 3, yr 2 and prep)
- Assisting with reading, writing, numeracy, and online schooling requirements
- Providing attentive care and age-appropriate activities for a two-year-old
- Planning educational and creative play activities
- Maintaining a structured daily routine for learning and play
- Encouraging outdoor activities and social development
- Communicating with parents and teachers as required
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised learning environment
Who We’re Looking For
- A caring, patient, and positive attitude toward children
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable living in a remote rural location
- Experience in childcare, teaching, or nannying is essential
- Current driver’s license preferred
- Blue Card (or willingness to obtain) is required
