We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated Quality Assurance Officer with process and product integrity to join our QA team based at our export accredited facility at Veradilla near Grantham in the Lockyer Valley. This is a fulltime permanent role.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to quality policy
- Monitor Quality Assurance programs in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Provide overall direction to plant laboratory programs
- Liaise with other QA staff, Supervisors, Managers and Laboratory staff
- Liaise with Production re: packing instructions / product specifications
- Maintain knowledge of, and amended copies of manuals, notices, advices and legislation
- Consult with the QA 2IC and report on effectiveness of quality systems and opportunities for improvements
- Report unresolved / critical issues to the QA 2IC
- Liaise with the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), Ausmeat and customers
- Coordinate and review audits of quality systems
- Assist with investigations and corrective actions relating to customer complaints or system failures
- Participate in internal and external auditing program
In order to be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Must have full work rights and be already living in Australia
- Experience in QA systems and technical roles within the meat or food industry
- Strong knowledge and exposure to customer audits, both internal and external
- Ability to write and implement quality management systems
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Must have Ausmeat qualifications. Ausmeat Beef Specification certificate is desirable
- Practical experience in the food industry and Quality Assurance system including HACCP and supporting programs
- Self-motivated team player, proactive and a quick learner
- Be a key player in developing a continuously improving culture throughout the business
- Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office as well as ILeader skills would be advantageous
