ADD VALUE - THE ROLE

In your role you will contribute to important community outcomes and making a real impact for Singleton. The natural diversity of your role means that every day will be different. The Water and Sewer Network Team Leaders are part of the Water and Sewer Network Delivery Team who together provide operation, installation, maintenance and repair works for Council’s water and sewer distribution and treatment systems.

The Network Team Leader is primarily responsible for the daily coordination of small work teams to ensure they carry out the objectives to operate, construct and maintain water and sewer network systems. The position ensures safety, productivity and licencing requirements are met and the performance of field Water and Sewer Network Operators is managed, delivering work activities that meet customer service levels, safety, cost, quality and time objectives.

Your experience in water and sewer, construction and/or plumbing industry will be complemented by a Certificate III Water Operations qualification or have a willingness to obtain, as supported under Council's Learning and Development Protocol. You will have a demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate and support a team, ensuring they achieve work targets and objectives safely and efficiently, as well as the ability to plan and schedule work for your team. 

It would be advantageous if you currently held, or can demonstrate a willingness and ability to obtain, through Council provided training (at no cost to you), the following:

  • Class MR or above licence
  • Implement traffic control plans & Traffic controller tickets
  • Confined space entry
  • Work safely at heights
  • Dogman certification
  • Operate high pressure jetting water system
  • Working near overhead powerlines
  • AQF3 Chemical safety

This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 76 hours per fortnight on a team-based 9-day fortnight. This position participates in the on-call roster. 

Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 9 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $3089.22 - $3469.88 per fortnight consisting of:

  • $2,746.52 to $3,089.46 base salary
  • $36.56 Adverse Working Conditions allowance
  • $306.14 to $343.86 superannuation (calculated at 11%)

In addition to the base salary, up to $418 per week rostered on-call allowance when rostered, and regular overtime are available. This position has access to a commuter use vehicle.
