ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
The Trainee Technical Support Officer - Water and Sewer assists in delivering high level administration and project support across the Water and Sewer business unit. The role undertakes a range of functions to support the timely delivery of outcomes for the Water and Sewer business unit delivering water and sewer services to the Singleton community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist in providing accurate and timely administrative support and training to the Water and Sewer business unit to deliver on external and internal customer expectations.
- Assist in providing accurate and timely customer support, including taking phone and written enquiries, conducting research, raising customer requests for other staff/business units and providing responses.
- Assist in providing advice, referring internally and reviewing and processing water and sewer applications including building plan assessments, Water Management Act, water, sewer and pressure sewer connections, liquid trade waste and water carters.
- Assist in managing updates to relevant business unit communication and collaboration platforms, including internet and intranet pages, customer contact cards, brochures etc, liaising with relevant team members and stakeholders to ensure currency and accuracy of information.
- Assist in managing team administration logistics and provide support to meetings, which includes meeting invitations, catering, agendas and minutes and recording actions in relevant Council systems.
This position is offered on a temporary basis (up to 2-year traineeship) working 35 hours per week. This traineeship opportunity will study at Certificate III in Business Administration.
Remuneration package for this position is based in accordance with the Local Government (state) Award in the range of $803.30 - $920.10 per week plus superannuation and other award allowances.
Effective from the first full pay period in July 2025, an attractive above-award salary increase and 12% superannuation will be applied.
