Disability Support Worker

A friendly gentleman in Banyo who likes old cars and sailing is seeking a new support worker comfortable with working short, regular weekday shifts. He requires assistance with personal care, community access, exercise, grocery shopping and light housework. The ideal applicant will have support work experience or a background in nursing and live locally. They will be kind, reliable and have a caring communication style.

The Role:

  • Assist with shower preparation and post-shower support as required
  • Complete home exercise program as prescribed by exercise physiologist
  • Assist with grocery order and collection
  • Community Access and transport to appointments
  • General errands and light housekeeping

Shifts:

  • Monday - 10am – 12pm
  • Wednesday - 10am – 12pm
  • Friday - 10am - 2pm
  • Flexibility to pick up extra shifts when required

Pay Rate: $55 per hour (under ABN)

*potential for higher rate relative to level of experience and qualification*

The Successful applicant will:

  • Have previous support work experience or a background in Nursing
  • Be reliable, consistent and engaging
  • Communicate clearly in a caring manner
  • Be comfortable working short, regular shifts

Essential requirements:

  • +1 years experience Disability Support work or background in Nursing
  • Open Driver’s license and own vehicle with insurance
  • ABN & Insurance
  • Live locally
  • Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
  • NDIS Worker Screening/Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Flexibility to pick up additional hours when needed
