Male Disability Support Worker

A friendly, outgoing 36-year-old man with Autism and Schizophrenia who likes to get out and about in the community is looking for a new support worker. He is very social and loves to be around people who treat him with respect and as an equal. The young gentlemen is looking for people who will genuinely engage with him on a social level and are willing to explore opportunities that enhance the quality of his life. He is looking for someone with an outgoing personality that can nurture and maintain social connections as his strives to have a good quality life where he can contribute to his community in meaningful ways. Experience is not a requirement for the role, however aligned values and common-sense are essential.

The Role: 

  • Engage him in age appropriate activities
  • Encourage him to be house proud and invite friends and family into his space
  • Assisting with everyday household tasks
  • Assist with personal care / encourage self-care
  • Provide support out and about in the community
  • Establish and maintain valued roles within the community

Shifts:

  • Sleepover - 12pm Monday - 9am Tuesday
  • Sleepover - 2:30pm Friday until 9am Saturday
  • Sleepover 1pm Saturday - 9am Sunday
  • Flexibility to pick up extra shifts when required

Pay Rate: $59 per hour 

Essential Requirements:

  • Non-Smoker
  • Driver’s License
  • Excellent English Skills as alternative communication method is required 
  • Yellow Card / NDIS Clearance Check (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
  • Reasonable location to Belmont area 
  • Police Check
  • Availability for listed shifts as well as flexibility for additional hours when needed 
  • Full working rights in Australia
