We are currently seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to assist a lively 72-year-old lady residing in Carindale. This position involves supporting her in various recreational activities such as shopping, going out for coffee, and visiting friends, while also maintaining a clean and tidy living environment.

The ideal candidate will be willing to learn deaf blind signing to enhance communication and engagement (training is provided). The role will encompass household duties and facilitating community access, while ensuring a respectful and supportive atmosphere. You will be expected to maintain professional boundaries while fostering a warm and engaging relationship. Your proactive approach and ability to introduce new ideas will be highly valued.

The Role:

  • Personal Care
  • Mobility support

*For this role there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement for workers to be average height or above to provide safe mobility support*  

Shifts:

  • Saturday 7:45am – 4pm
  • Flexibility / availability for back up shifts when other workers are on leave

Pay Rate:

  • Training shifts - $35 per hour
  • Weekday Shifts - $54 per hour
  • Saturday shifts - $64.50 per hour
  • Sunday Shifts - $74.5 per hour
  • Public Holidays - $120 per hour

Essential requirements:

  • +1 year experience Disability support work / Aged Care
  • Non-Smoker
  • ABN & Insurance
  • Proficient written and spoken English 
  • Open, clean driver’s license, own vehicle with insurance & RACQ cover
  • Live within reasonable travelling distance
  • NDIS Worker Screening/Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Current First Aid Certificate & CP

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience with deaf blind Signing / AUSLAN / Alternative forms of communication
