About Somerville Community Services

Somerville is a for-purpose, community-based organisation that has supported Territorians for over 50 years. We specialise in high-quality disability services that empower people to live the life they choose. As a registered NDIS provider, we deliver individualised support across the Northern Territory, with a focus on respectful, person-centred relationships that promote choice, dignity, and independence.

About the role

We’re seeking a proactive and organised Rostering Officer to join our team for a 3-month parental leave cover (with the possibility of extension). We are looking for someone who is available to commence as soon as possible. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, helping to ensure consistent, high-quality support for people with disability across Somerville’s services.

You’ll be part of a supportive rostering team, working together to:

  • Coordinate staffing coverage across multiple sites and regions
  • Manage planned and unplanned shift vacancies, including last-minute absences
  • Maintain accurate, compliant rosters that support continuity of care
  • Liaise with managers and staff to problem-solve and keep services running smoothly

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives under pressure, communicates clearly, and enjoys solving complex staffing puzzles - all while working alongside a collaborative, experienced team.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience coordinating rosters or shift coverage in a busy 24/7 environment
  • Ability to interpret and apply Awards/Enterprise Agreements
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Calm, solutions-focused approach when responding to urgent staffing needs
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competence with rostering systems and Microsoft 365
  • Current (or ability to obtain) Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening, NT Driver’s Licence, and influenza vaccination

Please refer to the full position description for a complete list of essential and desirable criteria.

Why work with us

At Somerville, you’ll be part of a values-led team where your skills contribute to meaningful outcomes for people with disability.

You’ll also enjoy:

  • Role-specific training and ongoing support from an experienced team
  • Five weeks annual leave (pro-rata)
  • Not-for-profit salary packaging to increase your take-home pay
  • A strong focus on employee wellbeing and engagement
  • Free, confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
