Earn approximately $105,000 - $113,000 per annum (including penalties), based on the current structured day-shift roster (including weekends), plus super and access to salary packaging benefits.

We are seeking a calm and confident female Team Leader to work within an established Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Alice Springs.

This is a hands-on leadership role within a small, structured environment supporting a participant with complex behavioural and health-related needs. You will lead by example, delivering direct support while providing practice leadership to a small team to ensure consistent, high-quality support is delivered every day.

What you’ll do

  • Provide practice leadership and oversight to a small, consistent team of Disability Support Workers
  • Lead by example, delivering direct support within a structured environment, including complex health and behavioural support needs
  • Model calm, consistent and professional practice that promotes safety, choice and independence
  • Coordinate daily routines, appointments and community access aligned with participant goals and support needs
  • Ensure Behaviour Support Plans and complex health routines (including PEG feeding) are implemented consistently and safely
  • Support staff to respond appropriately during periods of behavioural escalation, maintaining therapeutic and safe practice
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication across the team and with allied health professionals
  • Oversee documentation, shift notes, and incident reporting to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance
  • Monitor staff compliance with training, certifications and organisational procedures, maintaining a strong culture of accountability
  • Participate in the shared on-call roster on a rotational basis (approximately one week in every seven), with an additional on-call allowance applicable.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated experience supporting people with complex behaviours of concern
  • The ability to remain calm, consistent and professional in challenging situations
  • Confidence supporting complex health needs, including medication administration (experience with PEG feeding highly regarded)
  • Leadership capability, with confidence providing direction, guidance and feedback to staff
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with attention to detail in documentation
  • Understanding of Behaviour Support frameworks and person-centred active support practice
  • Commitment to professional accountability and high-quality support delivery
  • Current (or ability to obtain) Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid and CPR, NT Driver’s Licence and influenza vaccination
  • Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services or a related field (Diploma qualifications highly regarded)
