About the role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator to deliver accurate, timely and compliant payroll services across a large, multi-site workforce operating in a 24/7 environment.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time, while supporting leaders with payroll processes and maintaining compliance with legislative requirements and the Somerville Enterprise Agreement.

In this role you’ll:

  • Coordinate the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery across a large, multi-site workforce
  • Process payroll, including wages, allowances, leave, salary packaging and termination payments in line with legislative and EA requirements
  • Manage statutory obligations (PAYG, superannuation, child support), ensuring everything is compliant and submitted on time
  • Manage employee lifecycle changes in payroll systems, including onboarding, variations and offboarding, ensuring data accuracy and compliance
  • Work with leaders to ensure timesheets and leave are accurate, providing guidance where needed
  • Act as the key point of contact for payroll queries, resolving issues and providing practical support
  • Contribute to reporting, audits and continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes

What you’ll bring

You’re an experienced payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, takes ownership of your work, and can confidently manage payroll in a complex, fast-paced environment.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll across a multi-site or shift-based workforce
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and statutory obligations
  • High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Experience maintaining payroll data integrity and resolving discrepancies
  • Strong systems capability, including payroll systems and Excel for reporting and reconciliation
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to support and guide leaders and staff
  • Sound judgement, with the ability to identify issues, manage risk and escalate where required
  • Current (or ability to obtain) Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid and CPR, NT Driver License and influenza vaccination

Knowledge of the SCHADS Award, along with experience working with salary packaging in a not-for-profit environment, will be highly regarded.
