SDN is one of only a few community-based organisations that has been operating in Australia for more than 100 years. SDN has survived many challenges, including two world wars and the Great Depression, and grown into one of Australia’s most respected children’s services organisations. SDN is overseen by the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Leadership Team, who are qualified and experienced professionals.

- early childhood intervention for children with disabilities

- resources and mentoring for practitioners and other agencies
- Aboriginal training and employment support
About The Role
As an Early Childhood Assistant you will bring your passion for working with children to our supportive team to provide quality education and care services. You will work with a team of dedicated educators to create a stimulating, positive and inclusive environment that reflects the Early Years Learning Framework whilst maintaining the elements of the National Quality Standards (NQS). You will assist in the observation and evaluation of children’s development to support their learning outcomes. You will also engage with families and the community.
This is a full time position.
About The Centre
SDN Erskineville opened in 1936 to provide child care and education for children. The centre caters for 70 children between the ages of birth and five years old.
About You
The right candidate for this role will have the following:
- A Certificate III in Children’s Services
- A Working with Children Check clearance number (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in a similar role
- The ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision
