About The Role 

As Centre Director you will provide innovative leadership in managing our Children’s Education and Care Centre based in Mosman. The purpose of this role is to lead and manage a high quality, inclusive children’s education and care centre that provides contemporary early childhood education and care for young children, supports families, connects with the community and seeks to address inequalities faced by children and families.

You will lead a team of educators and ensure that high quality care and education is delivered as well as building and maintaining a supportive and collaborative relationship with families. You will strive for continuous improvement in your centre and become a trusted partner to the parents and children. Relationships will be crucial to your success so you will be an exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

 

About You

The right candidate for this role will have the following: 

  • University qualifications in Early Childhood Education 
  • Previous experience as a Centre Director/Centre Manager 
  • Excellent understanding of and commitment to contemporary early childhood practice that is informed by the Early Years Learning Framework, Social Justice and inclusive practices. 
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative policies, standards and requirements 
  • Demonstrated ability to build constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Knowledge and experience in managing operational budgets, utilisation and marketing strategies 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team and experience in implementing performance review processes 
  • Demonstrate an awareness of and commitment to child safety and comply with the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998.
  • Working with Children Check (NSW)

 

About The Centre

SDN has been part of the Mosman community since 1944, and owns and runs a 43 place centre catering for children from 12 months to five years across three aged-based rooms. The centre is located in a quiet street in Mosman with off street parking and is very close to public transport. The Centre is well resourced and has a large outdoor area with a riverbed, large trees and a herb garden.
