About The Role
As an Early Childhood Assistant you will bring your passion for working with children to our supportive team to provide quality education and care services. You will work with a team of dedicated educators to create a stimulating, positive and inclusive environment that reflects the Early Years Learning Framework whilst maintaining the elements of the National Quality Standards (NQS). You will assist in the observation and evaluation of children’s development to support their learning outcomes. You will also engage with families and the community.
This position is working in the 0-3 years room and is a defined duration contract starting in July 2015 until July 2016.
About The Centre
SDN Petersham Children's Education and Care Centre is one of two SDN centres that operate within a campus of TAFE NSW. This is a 30 place centre which has 2 separate shaded outdoor spaces with one offering a 'rainforest walk' through palm trees.
About You
The right candidate for this role will have the following:
- A Certificate III in Children’s Services
- A Working with Children Check clearance number (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in a similar role
- The ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate an awareness of and commitment to child safety and comply with the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998.
- Initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision
