A ‘happy-go-lucky’ 42 year-old guy, who loves music, poetry, photography, sport and swimming is seeking an additional worker to join his friendly, dedicated support team. He has a fabulous sense of humour and enjoys going to local community events, cafes and parks. He also loves dogs, and has a gorgeous dog that he adores (you must love dogs too!)
He has a disability, however, experience working with people with disabilities is not necessarily required as full training will be provided. The position does entail personal care, however, training for this is provided and uncomplicated.
SHIFTS:
- Thursday 12pm - 6pm
- Every 2nd Saturday - 11am till 5pm (depending on the day's schedule)
- Availability and flexibility to cover shifts throughout the week as we are always needing fill-in support for times when staff are on leave or sick (both day and overnight support shifts). The team provides support on a 24/7 roster basis.
- Monthly team meetings (held on a weeknight with the potential to Zoom)
2 more shifts will be available as of June:
- Every 2nd Sunday (1st and 3rd of the Month) - 5pm - 9am following day
- Monday Overnight - 5pm - 9am following morning
ROLE:
- Provide support to go out (or stay in) and enjoy music, poetry, photography, sport, invite friends over for dinner and involve himself in the community
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living in his home
- Facilitate and maintain connections with friends and family & organise regular catch-ups
- Provide support to communicate using alternative communication techniques (training provided)
- Maintaining the yard
REQUIREMENTS:
- Driver's license and a roadworthy vehicle;
- Excellent English skills as alternative communication method is required;
- Availability for the listed shifts, as well as flexibility for additional hours when needed;
- Reasonable location to the Stafford area;
- Blue card / yellow card / NDIS clearance check; or the ability to obtain one.
- Up to date Covid vaccination Certificate
- NDIS Orientation Module Certificate or willing to obtain before start date
- Covid Infection Control Training Certificate or willing to obtain before start date
