Mature Female Lifestyle Support Worker

I am a 44 year old lady with a happy disposition who loves music, socialising, travelling and having fun. I have a strong and informal network of people who are committed to helping me achieve my dreams and goals. As a supporter, you will play a key role in achieving these. I am looking for a mature, enthusiastic support workers to work with me and my family to assist me to live a full life as an integral, respected member of my community.  Experience working with people with disabilities is not necessarily required as full training will be provided.

The successful applicant will be considered based on their personality, hobbies, and interests as well as and what they can offer to add value to this lady’s life. Previous support workers have come from a range of backgrounds and ages; including; musicians, artists, university students, ex-teachers and OT’s.

Role:

  • Provide support, to help me achieve my goals and most importantly, achieve as much independence as possible.
  • Support me in helping me be part of my community and visit and maintain contact with my family and friends and other networks. This may include local festivals etc.
  • Provide support to assist with meal planning and preparation
  • Provide support at the gym and encourage home workouts
  • Provide support around the home (light housework)
  • Provide support at work/volunteer commitments

Shifts:

Applicants must be available:

  • Tuesday shift 9am -  6pm 
  • 1 x Weekend shift per month - Weekend shifts are 24 hours (Friday 6pm-Saturday 6pm/Saturday 6pm-Sunday 6pm)
  • The ability to be a backup worker when staff are sick or on leave, the team provides support on a 24/7 roster basis.

Requirements:

  • NDIS Disability Worker's Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Open Queensland Drivers License 
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Living locally
  • Rights to work in Australia
  • Certification in Disability / Aged Care highly regarded
