Disability Support Worker

Hello, I am a young 66 year old friendly and kind woman who lives in Sunnybank Hills. My interests include animals and travelling. I am looking for a mature-minded support worker; to assist me with my daily living and community and social participation including appointments, shopping and leisure pursuits. You will need to be friendly, respectful, outgoing, sociable and have a good sense of humour. The successful applicant will also be community minded, physically active and like meeting new people.  You must have excellent communication skills, be a skilled negotiator and be a good role model. We are looking for a person that understands social roles, the importance of networks and connection, and is an advocate for inclusion.

Key Duties:

  • Assist with Daily Living including personal care
  • Domestic assistance including cooking, cleaning and household duties
  • Assistance with managing animals, feeding, cleaning cages (dog and birds / parrots)
  • Walking and bathing dog
  • Social and community engagement
  • Garden maintenance

Shifts:

  • Tuesday Evenings - 5pm - 8:30pm / 5:30pm - 9pm
  • Thursday Evenings - 5pm - 8:30pm / 5:30pm - 9pm
  • Sunday Evenings - 5pm - 8:30pm / 5:30pm - 9pm 
  • Flexibility to pickup extra shifts when team members are on leave

Commencement Date: 16th of February

Requirements:

  • Honest and Trustworthy
  • Physically able to meet the requirements of the role 
  • Articulate with good sense of humour
  • Focused, positive person
  • Ability to take direction from a person with a physical disability
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • Flexibility to cover and change shifts
  • Live locally
  • Must like animals and be happy to perform above listed duties
  • You will also need to be punctual, reliable and well presented
  • Current Open Queensland Drivers License 
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Disability Worker's SCreening Check (or willing to obtain)
  • Certificate & Experience in Aged Care highly desirable
