A woman in her 50s and her wife and dog live in Darling Heights.  They are looking for a compassionate and proactive Key Worker to work closely alongside them in their home. 

The role includes support with life administration, managing weekly schedules and support calendars, training new support staff and providing direct support. This position is ideal for someone with leadership and interpersonal skills who values building meaningful relationships and fostering a supportive team culture.

Key Worker Responsibilities:

  • Building relationships with the support team, family and social network  
  • Coordinating and overseeing flexible and responsive provision of supports across several providers
  • Managing weekly schedules, daily activities, personal administration, budgeting and travel   
  • Clearly communicating plans, schedules and expectations to the support team 
  • Coordinating therapy and medical appointments and supporting outcomes
  • Completing inductions, training and buddy shifts with new workers
  • Effectively communicating changes to rostered hours
  • Monitoring and responding to all team communications in a timely manner
  • Incident management, support and debriefing in collaboration with the family receiving support
  • Providing direct support

Key Worker Profile:

  • A commitment to long-term relationships with individuals seeking support and their families
  • Demonstrated integrity, initiative, and alignment with family governed principles and support models
  • Understanding and experience of individuals who direct their own supports
  • Experience in practical everyday knowledge required to run a sustainable and healthy household 
  • Strong connections within the local community or a demonstrated willingness to build relationships alongside individuals with disabilities
  • High-level interpersonal communication skills, with an ability to connect with people of all communication abilities
  • Ability to work both independently as well as to inspire, motivate, coach and supervise a team of support workers

Shifts / Hours:

  • Some direct Support Shifts with the family, 7-10am & 7pm-10pm
  • Variable / flexible shifts throughout the week for indirect support / Key Worker duties

*22 hours per week available to start*

Starting Pay Rates: 

  • Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm shift - $41.00 per hour
  • Monday to Friday 8pm - 6am shift - $45.92 per hour
  • Saturday - $57.40 per hour
  • Sunday - $73.80 per hour
  • Public Holidays - $90.20 per hour

*Higher pay rates negotiable commensurate to skills, qualifications and level of experience*

Essential Requirements:

  • Leadership experience desired
  • LGBQTIA+ friendly
  • Dog friendly
  • Open Driver’s license and able to drive family vehicle
  • NDIS Worker Screening (and willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Live within reasonable travelling distance of Darling Heights
  • Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
  • Rights to work in Australia
