Disability Support Professionals

Job No: SDP312602
Location: Caloundra

The Role:

Support and mentor a young man (21yrs) who has significant support needs with his work, social skills, fitness, creativity, independence, personal development, family life and more.

Experience in support work is not necessarily required as you will be trained and mentored by his parents who work in disability and his support workers. You will be part of a dynamic, skilled and committed team.

This position does entail personal care: the training for this is provided and is uncomplicated.

For the right person with experience, leadership qualities and aligned values, there is the opportunity to develop a role as team leader/key worker.

Details:

I am a 21-year-old with a great sense of humour who enjoys life...good music, movies, swimming, the gym, making art, walking to the beach and good food. Since finishing school in 2023, I am enjoying my working and young adult life. I seek an energetic, organised person to work with me. If your idea of work involves fun, sensitivity, creativity, activity and using your well-developed relationship skills then this may well be your ideal part-time job.

You don’t need to have previous experience working with a person who has disability, as you will receive full training from my family, my team and me. Your values, qualities and transferrable skills are what matters most.

Shifts:

There are a range of shifts, days and times available including overnight.

Pay rates are above award and are negotiated on the basis of skills and experience.

Essential requirements:

  •  A collaborative approach to working with my family and me (and our dog) to help me meet my goals for 2026.
  •  Enthusiasm to get to know me and my interests and a willingness to share yours
  •  Trustworthy and reliable - Current national police check or willing to get one
  •  Willingness to be paid through my self-directed pay roll provider and meet their requirements
  •  Ability to demonstrate organisational skills
  •  Non smoker
  •  Drivers license and own insured vehicle
