Hello, I am a 42 year-old man who lives with a flatmate in Caboolture. I enjoy volunteering, I am very creative and enjoy music and the Arts. I am active and love to exercise; I go to the gym and enjoy going on bushwalks regularly. I like to cook and am always looking to broaden my skills, of which I have many, beyond just food prep. I like to sample and experience different types of food and cuisines. I love life and want to experience everything it has to offer. I attend the local Men’s Shed and I am a member of a drumming circle and a few Writers Groups.

I am looking for a mature-minded and experienced support worker to assist me with my daily living. You must be respectful, proactive and have an engaging personality. The successful applicant enjoys living an active and healthy lifestyle and enjoys the beach and travelling. Your support to me will be in a positive, empowering and common-sense manner.

We are looking for a person that understands social roles, the importance of networks and connection, and is an advocate for inclusion. You respect the vision of people with disabilities and their families to live lifestyles that are valued and preferred by other citizens & where close others influence and safeguard a good life.

The Role:

  • Assist with Daily Living
  • Domestic assistance including cooking, cleaning and household duties
  • Social and community engagement

* Experience with Facilitated Communication highly regarded*

Shifts:

  • Morning Shifts start at 7:30 or 8am for approximately 5 hours – Weekdays and Weekends
  • Sleepover Shifts – 5pm - 6am following day (Weekdays and weekends)
  • Flexibility / availability to pick up additional shifts when workers are on leave

 *Approximately 15 - 20 hours a week available*

Pay Rates:

  • Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm shift - $35 per hour
  • Monday to Friday 8pm - 6am - shift $39.20 per hour
  • Saturdays - $49 per hour
  • Sunday - $63 per hour
  • Public Holidays - $77 per hour

The ideal support worker will be:

  • Able to take direction by someone with a disability and their family
  • Physically fit due to nature of the role
  • Able to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • Punctual, reliable and well presented.

Requirements:

  • +2 years experience as a disability Support worker preferable (however candidates with less considered if they match other criteria)
  • Non-Smoker
  • Current Open Drivers License and own vehicle with fully insurance 
  • Live within reasonable travelling distance
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Yellow Card / NDIS Disability Workers Screening Clearance
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Flexibility to pick up additional hours when needed
  • Full Working Rights in Australia
