Support a 46-year-old woman who is friendly, kind-hearted and has a zest for life! Living independently in Richlands, she has a mild intellectual disability and enjoys art, music, dancing, shopping, and creating memories with her daughter. Very much her own woman, her support workers follow her lead each shift while offering respectful and thoughtful guidance. She is currently looking for 2 mature, reliable female workers to support her to go on adventures a couple of times a month (usually travelling 1 - 2 hours away to visit family or for swimming, fishing, BBQs, markets or other events). Support is also required with general day to day activities, life admin and to attend appointments. Ideal candidates will be fun, social, proactive, flexible, able to think outside the box and bring a positive energy to the role. Living locally and having experience supporting an individual with Epilepsy will be highly regarded, however, training is provided.
Ongoing Shifts (to be shared across 2 new workers):
- Fortnighty Mondays - 9am - 1pm - some flexibility around start / finish times
- Weekly Wednesdays - 3 hour shift - shift times flexible
- Fortnightly Fridays - 3 - 5 hour shift - shift times flexible
- Fortnightly Saturdays 8am - 4:30pm
- Flexibility required to provide support at different times
- Additional shifts available when other workers are on leave
Requirements:
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to providing high-quality support
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with team
- Current Clean Open licence, own insured vehicle with air conditioning
- Epilepsy Training - Basic understanding of Epilepsy – successful applicant to attend “Understanding Epilepsy Course”
- Living within reasonable travelling distance
- NDIS Disability Workers Screening (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Current CPR and first aid (or willing to obtain)
- Basic home cooking skills
- Basic swimming skills
Pay Rates:
- Monday to Friday 6 AM to 8 PM: $37.50 per hour
- Monday to Friday 8 PM to 6 AM: $42.00 per hour
- Saturday: $52.50 per hour
