Hello, I am a friendly, lively and kind hearted 46-year-old woman who lives in my own home in Nundah. I have moderate intellectual impairment. I adore my pets and and love taking my dog for a walk, I love going to the gym and keeping fit and active. I also spend some of my free time volunteering with animals, going to the theatre, shows and movies.

I am looking for new support workers to assist me with my daily living, personal care and guiding me in my daily life. You must be an excellent communicator, have a good sense of humour and always be up for a laugh. You must be able to work with my other support networks to ensure I live a healthy, active lifestyle and speak up when there is room for improvement/change. The successful applicant will encourage me to work towards achieving my goals and work together with me to discover more hobbies and how they can be achieved through different activities and classes. Most importantly, you must be happy, outgoing and positive.

We are looking for a people who understand social roles, the importance of networks and connections, and who advocate for inclusion. They respect the vision of people with disabilities and their families to live lifestyles that are valued and preferred by other citizens & where close others influence and safeguard a good life. They must be able to work with my other support networks and communicate clearly when there is room for improvement.

Shifts:

  • Wednesdays - 7am - 10am
  • Saturdays - 8am - 12pm
  • Sundays Fornightly  - 8am - 11am
  • Flexibility to pick up extra shifts when other staff are on leave

Key Duties:

  • Personal Care
  • Assistance with Daily Living
  • Domestic assistance, cleaning and household duties
  • Meal planning, budgeting and cooking in home for healthy freezer meals
  • Social and community engagement

Pay Rates:

  • Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm shift - $38.25 per hour
  • Monday to Friday 8pm - 6am - shift $42.84 per hour
  • Saturdays - $53.55 per hour
  • Sunday - $68.85 per hour
  • Public Holidays - $84.15 per hour

Requirements:

  • Comfortable providing personal care
  • Must like animals (pet cat and dog in the home)
  • Ability to take direction by someone with a disability
  • Physically fit due to nature of the role
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • You will also need to be punctual, reliable and well presented
  • Current Open Queensland Drivers License and own vehicle with fully insurance
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Current NDIS Disability Workers Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
