Female Disability Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Disability Support Worker for a young lady living in Bald Hills. In this role, you will provide support to a vibrant individual who enjoys swimming, dancing, movies, music, exercise, and spending time in nature. The focus of your work will be supporting her in engaging with her community and staying active, while also providing personal care and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Access & Support: You will assist the individual in identifying and participating in activities that align with her interests, such as gym workouts, outdoor activities, and social outings.
  • Daily Routines: Provide morning support and help with personal routines, including transportation to various locations for scheduled activities.
  • Personal Development: Assist the individual with decision-making, money handling, and promoting independence through community engagement.
  • Support During Appointments: Depending on the schedule, you'll also provide support during the individual’s therapeutic appointments such as counselling.

Tuesday Shifts Schedule:

Regular shift - 3 times a month:

  • 9AM – 12:30PM: Pickup for morning routine at home, Gym for a 30-minute workout, social outing and lunch visit TRIBE centre and drop back home

Once a month:

  • 9AM – 12:30PM: Arrival for morning routine, drive to Margate for counselling appointment, Gym for a 30-minute workout, lunch and drop back home

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and managing dysregulated behaviour.
  • A friendly yet firm approach, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
  • Adaptability, patience, and a proactive attitude toward community engagement and activity planning.
  • A genuine passion for empowering individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives.

Pay Rate:

$50 per hour under ABN

Requirements:

  • Female applicants only
  • Experience with behaviour management, ADHD and Autism
  • Experience with supporting an individual with anxiety
  • NDIS Disability Workers Screening / Yellow card
  • NDIS Orientation Module Certificate or willing to obtain
  • Open license and own vehicle
  • Living within reasonable travelling distance
