A creative 42-year-old gentleman living independently in Caboolture is looking for a new Team Leader to guide his support team and work closely alongside him and his family. This is a hands-on position providing organisational assistance, facilitating community connections, serving as a positive role model and providing direct support when required. You will be responsible for managing a team of support workers, providing training, rostering and ensuring high-quality care is delivered. Your commitment to fostering positive relationships will be essential in achieving the gentleman’s goals for study, work, and social connections. We are seeking someone loyal who is looking for a long-term position.
*Internally this role is referred to as Key Worker*
Key Worker Responsibilities:
- Implement effective support strategies that align with the gentleman's vision for a unique lifestyle.
- Collaborate with family members to create a home environment that reflects their preferences and values.
- Manage the scheduling and rostering of support staff while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Facilitate opportunities for meaningful community participation and relationship building.
- Train and develop support workers to ensure high-quality care is delivered consistently.
- Recruit, induct, and manage the performance of support staff in accordance with organizational policies.
- Uphold the dignity, privacy, and well-being of the individual at all times.
- Coordinate communication between support staff and family, keeping all parties informed of updates.
- Encourage creative thinking and collaboration to enhance the quality of support provided.
Key Worker Profile:
- Strong connections within the local community or a demonstrated willingness to build relationships alongside individuals with disabilities.
- The ability to effectively manage and lead a small team of support workers.
- A commitment to long-term relationships with individuals seeking support and their families.
- High-level interpersonal communication skills, with an ability to connect with people of all communication abilities.
- Demonstrated integrity, initiative, and alignment with Social Role Valorisation principles.
- Think creatively about how things can be done and work collaboratively to create ways good things can happen.
Shifts / Hours:
Shifts will be variable / flexible across weekdays an weekends, including:
- Morning shifts from 7:30 / 8 am - approximately 5 hours (direct support)
- Sleepover Shifts 5pm - 6am the following day (direct support)
- Variable / flexible shifts throughout the week for indirect support / Key Worker duties
*15 - 20 hours available per week available*
Starting Pay Rate (to increase after initial appraisal):
- Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm shift - $36.25 per hour
- Monday to Friday 8pm - 6am - shift $40.60 per hour
- Saturdays - $50.75 per hour
- Sunday - $65.25 per hour
- Public Holidays - $79.75 per hour
- Sleepover Allowance $65
Essential Requirements:
- Experience in Disability support work
- Experience in a Team Leader / Key Worker Role or equivalent position (highly regarded but not essential)
- Non-Smoker
- Open Driver’s license and own vehicle with insurance
- Live within reasonable travelling distance
- Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
- NDIS Worker Screening/Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
