About the Role
As the Systems Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain network and infrastructure systems. This position requires a hands-on, experienced generalist who can support the stability, reliability, and security of operational systems, spanning on-premise servers and cloud environments, while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Reporting to the Infrastructure Lead and working within a dedicated team, your responsibilities will include leading infrastructure projects from planning through deployment, providing technical guidance to junior team members, along with managing system monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation efforts. While DevOps is an emerging focus for us, you’ll bring a mindset that embraces automation and process improvement, contributing to areas like configuration management and deployment processes. You’ll also play a key role in evaluating new technologies for infrastructure enhancement and translating business needs into technical solutions that support our operations.
About You
Our ideal applicant would have proven experience in Information Technology, backed by a tertiary qualification or relevant industry certifications, along with hands-on experience in a similar role providing expert systems engineering guidance. Experience in the resources sector, such as mining, oil, gas, or utilities, is essential, as is a current 'C' class driver's license. The successful candidate must also be eligible for a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) and be willing to work after-hours and on-call to support operational needs.
