Permanent Part-Time (20 hours per week)
Band 3 - $32.45 - $34.73 per hour plus superannuation
Permanent Part-Time Lifeguard for Southern Grampians Shire Council, 20 hours per week available - Tuesday to Friday rostered shifts until 4.30pm.
Lifeguarding role based at Hamilton Indoor Leisure and Aquatic Centre (HILAC) with potential further work in the outdoor pools, if interested. Extra shifts available - if wanted - filling vacant shifts throughout the week. Assistance available in obtaining qualifications. Lifeguards provide a key contribution to the operation of HILAC, and Council’s outdoor pools. The lifeguard is responsible for the supervision, safety, cleaning, and operation of these swimming pools. Lifeguards are responsible to provide specialist surveillance, advice, supervision, safety, first aid and rescue services to pool patrons (proactive and reactive) to educate and prevent loss of life by drowning and/or injury to the public. Attendance at regular professional development sessions and ability to communicate in a positive manner with the broader community as a representative of Council are key to this role.
Lifeguard and First Aid courses are available in Hamilton. Applications will be considered for those with or willing to obtain these qualifications.
