Our Local Laws team are an innovative group of professionals that strive to set new standards This role is on the frontline of services offered by Council to the local community with a broad spectrum of responsibilities • Including, but not limited to:
- Investigate dog attacks, illegal breeding and other complex matters under the Domestic Animals Act 1994
- Respond to customer requests that come through Merit
- Investigate offences and promote compliance under the SGSC Community Local Law, including parking meters in the CBD
- Provide Councils animal management service which includes containing loose dogs, ensuring compliance for Declared Dangerous Dogs, securing stock out on roads and ensuring that regulations and Codes of Practice are adhered to by animal owners and Domestic Animal Businesses
- Promote responsible pet ownership and engage with the community
- Filling in for School Crossing Supervisors when they are away
