Assistant Educator - Float

The Role:

Due to occupancy growth, we are looking to expand our team of highly skilled Assistant Educators within a float position. You will support the team across different rooms within the service and participate in daily practices.  We are looking for Educators who align with our philosophies and is not only able to provide engaging programs for the children, but they have the drive to make this the best service in the community, while also being caring, empathetic, passionate and respectful.   • Facilitate the learning experiences for your allocated group of children
  • Be part of a collaborative teaching environment
  • Participate in the observation and recording of children's development
  • Maintain effective communication with the parents throughout the service
  • Create a friendly, secure and stimulating interactive learning environment
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all team members
  • Ensure a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times

Who we’re looking for:

  • Hold a Cert 3 or Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • A strong understanding of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Dedication to developing the future of children and passion for expanding on children's interests
  • The enthusiasm to be proactive in implementing curriculum
  • A friendly and energetic demeanour
  • Have amazing customer service skills where you see parents as partners in children's learning journey

About Mernda

ELC Mernda is a long standing established centre within the Whittlesea community. Opened in 2013 ago our team has watched ELC Mernda grow and develop, gaining excellent relationships with families and a strong reputation within the community. Our purpose built service caters for 120 children per day from 6:30am – 6:30pm. Our centre consists of 6 rooms and 3 outdoor play areas designed for each age group. We are very passionate about our flexible learning and indoor/outdoor programs, where our children have the choice to freely engage in learning activities/experiences based on their interests. Our service has shaded outdoor areas, veggie gardens giving the children the opportunity to engage in sustainable practice, and a purpose built forte in our over 3’s yard. ELC Mernda is located close to public transport, your local Mernda supermarkets and both Mernda Primary School and St Joseph Catholic School. Our enthusiastic, dedicated team of Educators strive for the best for all families and their children, enjoying our passion for Early Childhood Education at ELC Mernda.
