A gentleman in his 40s is looking for a new Key Worker to guide his support team and work closely alongside his family. The role includes providing organisational assistance, managing weekly schedules, facilitating community connections and providing direct support. You will be responsible for managing a team of support workers, providing training, and ensuring high-quality care is delivered. Your commitment to working with the family, fostering positive relationships and cultivating the team's culture will be essential in assisting him to maintain social connections and will ensure he has valued roles within his community.
Key Worker Responsibilities:
- Building relationships with the support team, family, and social network
- Overseeing flexible and responsive provision of supports
- Managing weekly schedules, daily activities, personal administration, budgeting and travel
- Clearly communicating plans, schedules and expectations to the support team
- Coordinating and supporting facilitation of therapy and medical appointments
- Supporting the gentleman to communicate his needs with the support team
- Completing induction, training and buddy shifts with new workers (in collaboration with Team Leader)
- Effectively communicating appointments and changes to rostered hours with the Team Leader
- Monitoring and responding to all team communications in a timely manner in collaboration with the Team Leader
- Incident management, support and debriefing in collaboration with Team Leader
- Supporting, implementing and maintaining PBS strategies as stated by behaviour support
- Providing direct support
Key Worker Profile:
- Strong connections within the local community or a demonstrated willingness to build relationships alongside individuals with disabilities
- A commitment to long-term relationships with individuals seeking support and their families
- High-level interpersonal communication skills, with an ability to connect with people of all communication abilities
- Demonstrated integrity, initiative, and alignment with Social Role Valorisation principles
- Ability to work both independently as well as to inspire, motivate, coach and supervise a team of support workers
Shifts / Hours:
- Direct Support Shifts - generally 9am - 5pm & 5pm - 9am Sleepovers
- Variable / flexible shifts throughout the week for indirect support / Key Worker duties
*22 hours per week available to start*
Starting Pay Rates:
- Monday to Friday 6am to 8pm shift - $39.25 per hour
- Monday to Friday 8pm - 6am shift - $43.96 per hour
- Saturday - $54.95 per hour
- Sunday - $70.65 per hour
- Public Holidays - $86.35 per hour
- Sleepover allowance $80.00 per shift
*Higher pay rates negotiable commensurate to skills, qualifications and level of experience*
Essential Requirements:
- Leadership experience desired
- Open Driver’s license and own vehicle with insurance
- NDIS Worker Screening (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Live within reasonable travelling distance
- Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
- Rights to work in Australia
