At Sutherland Shire Council, we are dedicated to creating safe, accessible, and vibrant open spaces for our community. As a Horticulturist, you will play a vital role in maintaining our horticultural assets across the Shire, either on a fixed site or as part of a mobile team.
Your ImpactYou will be responsible for planning and executing horticultural tasks, ensuring they are completed efficiently and safely in line with Council's operating procedures. From managing work sites to delivering maintenance programs, your work will directly contribute to the quality and functionality of our open spaces.
Are you the Perfect Fit?As a successful candidate, you will have recent experience in a similar role, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and the public. You will bring a strong technical knowledge of parks maintenance and a commitment to working in a safe and compliant manner.
- Hold a Certificate 3 in Horticulture or equivalent qualification.
- NSW - WHS General Induction Card (White card).
- Possess a Chemcert (AQF3) or equivalent qualification.
- Class MR Licence – valid or willingness to complete within 6 months of appointment.
- Demonstrate proficiency in chemical application and WHS practises.
- Show willingness to learn and grow within the role.

- Package: $65,400 - $69,200 gross p.a. plus 11% superannuation
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time 38 hour week, with a 9 day fortnight
