Join Our Team as a Coordinator of Infrastructure Project Planning!
Sutherland Shire Council is looking for an experienced and inspired individual to lead the Project Planning team in Council’s Infrastructure Planning & Design unit. With multiple buildings, parks, playgrounds and sports amenities across our portfolio, these roles will play a key part in delivering our Capital and Operational Works programs while working in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.
The Asset Strategy and Delivery Division undertakes long-term asset management across the portfolio and delivers a pipeline of infrastructure through staged planning, design, and construction over a 4-year program. Sitting within the Infrastructure Planning & Design unit, this position will be responsible for initiatives such as master planning Councils high-priority parks and reserves, major renewals and expansions to Councils infrastructure portfolio, recreational service analysis and plans of management.
Your Role as Coordinator of Infrastructure Project Planning
As the Coordinator of Infrastructure Project Planning, you will play a crucial role in leading the planning phase of our projects. Your responsibilities will include project planning for a range of development types, consultant procurement, stakeholder engagement, feasibility assessments, reporting, and more. You will work closely with the Infrastructure Planning and Design Manager to ensure the smooth progression of projects from initiation to completion.
Key focus areas for this role include:
- Leading the delivery of Capital Works projects during the project planning phase.
- Create project briefs and delivery programs in close coordination with clients and stakeholders, setting the project objectives.
- Determining planning pathways and obtaining necessary approvals, including any heritage and cultural considerations.
- Undertake feasibility assessments and options studies, including advice on delivery programs and staging of works.
- Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders, clients and consultants across a range of disciplines to develop strategies and resolve problems.
- Engage and manage internal and external planning and design consultants.
- Work closely with the Asset Management, Design and Construction teams to deliver valued community assets.

- Package: From $120,000 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation. Salary will be determined based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
- Hours of work: Full time 35 hours per week with the option of a 19 day month. This is a temporary role and is expected to be available up to 12 months.
