About The Role
As a Civil Skilled Labourer in our Civil Operations team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our maintenance works and construction projects. Your responsibilities will include assisting with site preparation, operating machinery, and ensuring that all safety protocols are followed.
This role is responsible under the direction of Council’s Team Leader or Leading Hand to deliver reactive and planned maintenance / restoration and construction works on civil assets to agreed levels of service for quality, function and safety. The Skilled Labourer is expected to maintain and construct Council’s civil assets which include all road and stormwater infrastructure. The role involves physical tasks including but not limited to working with ready-mixed concrete and asphalt, excavation, concrete cutting, limited plant operation, traffic management (after accreditation if necessary) and surveying.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the civil construction industry while working on a variety of tasks and projects. Your contributions will help shape the infrastructure of the community we serve.
About You
We are looking for candidates who are reliable, motivated, and eager to learn. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of construction practises along with a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Previous experience in civil construction or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to operate basic construction tools and equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks as required.

- Package: From $56,839 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time 38 hours week with a 9-day fortnight.
