Position Overview
Working for Sutherland Council, you will play a crucial role in assessing and determining Development Applications, ensuring compliance with the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979. You will work closely with various professionals to coordinate input on projects, set clear objectives, and monitor progress. Your skills in project management and the ability to navigate the local government assessment process will be key to your success.
You will also have opportunities to prepare and present reports to Council and external panels, enhancing your profile and expertise in the field.
Who We Are Looking For
We seek a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for urban planning and community development.
- Tertiary qualifications or nearing completion in Town Planning, Urban & Regional Planning, Architecture, Urban Design, Building, or a related field.
- A valid Class C Driver’s Licence.
- General Construction Induction Card for NSW.
- Proven experience in assessment and determination of Development Applications.
- Working knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary input.
- Experience in setting work objectives and performance monitoring.
- Experience in preparing and presenting reports to Council and external panels such as LPPs, JRPPs, and the Land and Environment Court would be advantageous.

- Package: $85,500 - $116,864 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation. Salary will be based on skills and experience
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time: 35 hours per week with option of 19-day month flexitime arrangement
