Your Role as a Plant Operator
As a Plant Operator, you will play a crucial role in the ongoing maintenance of our horticultural assets across the Shire. This physical and fulfilling position requires self-management and teamwork to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently, effectively, and safely, in accordance with Council’s Operating Procedures.
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including operating horticultural equipment, applying chemicals as needed, and maintaining high standards of safety and service delivery. Your contributions will directly support the community’s enjoyment of safe and accessible open spaces.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a motivated candidate with a strong background in horticultural maintenance and plant operation.
- A valid Class MR driver’s licence and NSW WHS General Induction Card (White card) is essential for this role.
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role, with proficiency in operating equipment such as tractors, ride-on mowers, and commercial wood-chippers.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety practises within the workplace.
- An excellent understanding of WHS and application of safe working methods
- Certificate 2 in Horticulture or Arboriculture, Traffic Control Certificates, Chemcert (AQF3) qualification would be highly regarded.

- Package: $62,916 - $66,690 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent Full time - 38 hours per week with a 9 day fortnight
