About The Role

The Accounting Officer will play a crucial role in assisting with the financial accounting function of Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with audits.

This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall financial health of the Council while gaining valuable experience in the accounting field.

About You

We are looking for a motivated Accounting Officer who is eager to contribute to our team and grow professionally. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices.

  • Either hold or be working towards a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Have high IT literacy and be familiar with accounting information systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to succeed in this role.

  • Package: From $76,000 to $83,000 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Temporary Full-Time, working 35 hours per week with option of 19-day month flex time arrangement. Opportunity expected to be available for up to 12 months.
