Position Overview
As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for the hands-on maintenance and servicing of our fleet assets. Your role will involve implementing scheduled servicing, conducting inspections, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure the safety and compliance of our vehicles. You will work in alignment with manufacturer guidelines and council policies while providing quality mechanical services to keep our fleet operational.
This position offers a chance to work on a variety of modern heavy vehicles, and you may be required to assist in other areas of the unit as needed. Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle systems, ensuring timely maintenance delivery while minimising downtime.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for skilled individuals who are passionate about mechanics and committed to delivering quality service.
- Certificate III in Automotive Engineering (Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Mobile Plant), MVRIA Mechanic’s licence, and a Class C Drivers licence.is essential to apply for this role
- At least one year of post-trade experience in servicing and repairing heavy vehicles
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Class HR Drivers licence, RMS Vehicle Examiners Licence (Heavy Vehicles), and experience with heavy vehicle systems would be desirable
- Experience servicing/repairing a diverse range vehicles and plant equipment

- Package: From $93,223.00 - $95,198.17 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation ($67,752.00 - $69,727.00) base salary, plus allowances $15,254.72 (market allowance), $1465.60 (pump allowance) and $8,750.85 (shift allowance)
- Hours of work: Permanent Full-Time 38 hours 9-day fortnight
- Afternoon Shift: 1:00 pm to 10:20 pm. Monday – Thursday 1:00 pm – 10:20 pm. First Friday 12: 00 pm – 4:00 pm. Second Friday RDO scheduled. Must be flexible to work a reasonable number of public holidays
