Your Role in Our Library

This position is designed for enthusiastic individuals eager to dive into the world of library services. You will assist in various tasks, from issuing loans to supporting library programs, while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment.

As a Library Assistant Trainee, you will:

  • Support and respond to supervising staff instructions with a focus on high-quality service delivery.
  • Engage with customers using a variety of library resources and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of community-focused events and programs.
  • Continue your professional development by completing the Certificate III in Library and Information Services.

  • Committed to completing the Certificate III in Library and Information Services.

  • Package: $41,771 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • Hours of work:  Temporary full time position working 35 hours per week, with an option of 19 day month for maximum period of 18 months whilst completing a Cert III in Library and Information Services (Study to be completed at Ultimo TAFE). 
  • The libraries hours of operation are between the hours of 8.00am - 9:00pm Monday to Sunday (including public holidays). To maximise your on the job learning, you will be rostered based on the operational need of the libraries and with team members to support your development.
