Position Overview
The Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our fleet within the Infrastructure division. This full-time, permanent position involves developing and implementing strategic plans for the lifecycle management of the Council's fleet assets. The role emphasises sustainable practises and operational efficiency, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that meet community expectations.
Key responsibilities include overseeing fleet and workshop maintenance, managing building cleaning services, directing metal fabrication workshop operations, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. The Fleet Operations Manager will also monitor performance metrics to facilitate informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will possess a strong background in fleet operations and project management as well as demonstrated experience in managing large asset portfolios. You should be an articulate communicator with a knack for fostering collaborative relationships, both internally and externally.
- Tertiary qualification in automotive mechanical engineering, business management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in managing fleet asset lifecycles and maintenance operations at a senior level.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing fleet strategy and policy frameworks.
- Strong emotional intelligence and leadership skills to build a high-performing team.
- Ability to analyse complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
You will demonstrate a proactive approach to resource management, risk mitigation, and change management while ensuring the highest standards of service delivery and community engagement.
