Position Overview
The Technical Officer - Facilities Maintenance is a key role within our Facilities team, responsible for supporting the Coordinator and stakeholders in delivering essential maintenance activities, compliance inspections, and reporting on Council’s assets. This includes managing critical systems such as HVAC, fire control, and plumbing, as well as overseeing minor construction works and defect repairs.
In this position, you will be responsible for proactive management of request systems and dashboards, ensuring timely scheduling and reporting of work outputs. You will also monitor specialist contractor performance, provide technical advice, and uphold a safe working environment while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced individual who possesses a strong background in facilities maintenance and management.
- Trade Certificate (Cert 3) in a relevant field (Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry).
- Current Drivers Licence and Construction Industry Certificate (White Card).
- Proven supervisory experience in maintenance services and contract management.
- Strong knowledge of relevant Codes, Standards, and Legislation.
Your skills in budget monitoring and control, coupled with proficiency in software programs such as Excel and MS Projects, will be essential in this role. Experience with programs like One Council is desirable, as is a Certificate IV or Diploma in relevant fields such as Engineering or Project Management.
