Position Overview
The Metal Fabricator plays a crucial role, responsible for all aspects of metal fabrication related to Council’s fixed and non-fixed assets. This includes undertaking reactive repairs, proactive maintenance, fabrication, and installation activities to ensure the safety and functionality of our infrastructure.
As a Metal Fabricator, you will work under limited supervision, taking the initiative to complete tasks efficiently and effectively while adhering to relevant standards and regulations.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Metal Fabricator who is eager to contribute to our team and community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in metal fabrication and welding, along with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Essential qualifications include a Trade Certificate in Metal Fabrication or Welding/Boilermaker (Cert 3), a Building Industry Induction Certificate (white card), and a Class C driver’s licence.
- Proficiency in MIG/TIG and stick welding is required, along with a proven ability to interpret plans and undertake work effectively.
- Desirable qualifications include an LH or HR driver’s licence and a forklift licence.
- A solid understanding of work health and safety policies and procedures is also preferred.

- Package: From $67,752 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent full-time position 38 hours per week with a 9 day fortnight
