Position Overview
As an Arborist within the Parks and Natural Areas Unit, you will play a vital role in maintaining the Council’s arboriculture assets throughout the Sutherland Shire. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with operational policies, managing maintenance tasks, and coordinating equipment to enhance the life-span and usability of our local infrastructure.
You will be entrusted with planning and executing arboriculture work tasks effectively, operating specialised equipment, and maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and your team. Your expertise will not only contribute to our environmental goals but also support the community’s diverse needs.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in arboriculture, complemented by excellent communication and teamwork skills. We are looking for a proactive individual who is committed to safety and professionalism.
- Proven experience in arboriculture maintenance and management.
- Ability to operate specialised plant and equipment, including chipper and medium rigid trucks.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations and practises.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with colleagues and the public.

- Package: $67,752 - $75,656 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation. (Salary will determined based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate)
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time 38 hour week, with a 9 day fortnight
