Your Role as a Mechanic

As our new Mechanic, you’ll dive into hands-on maintenance, inspection, and servicing of our modern plant and fleet. Your skills will be vital in keeping our fleet safe and reliable for everyone in the community.

In this role, you’ll take on key responsibilities such as:

  • Performing high-quality, cost-effective mechanical maintenance on a variety of plant and fleet assets.
  • Diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle systems to manufacturer standards.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic service records and safety documentation.
  • Mentoring apprentices and supporting new team members in their growth.
  • Collaborating with your colleagues to meet operational goals and enhance team productivity.

Who We're Looking For

  • Essential: Certificate III in Automotive Engineering (Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Mobile Plant).
  • MVRIA Mechanic’s Licence.
  • Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • Desirable: Class HR Driver’s Licence and additional relevant qualifications.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of post-trade experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles.
  • Skills: Strong diagnostic abilities with hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Personal Traits: Excellent communication skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset.

Your ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively will be key to your success in this role. We’re looking for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and dive into hands-on tasks with enthusiasm!

  • Package: From $93,223.00 - $95,198.17 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation ($67,752.00 - $69,727.00) base salary, plus allowances $15,254.72 (market allowance), $1465.60 (pump allowance) and $8,750.85 (shift allowance)
  • Hours of work: Casual, Part-Time and Full-Time opportunities (38 hours 9-day fortnight) will be considered
  • Afternoon Shift: 1:00 pm to 10:20 pm. Monday – Thursday 1:00 pm – 10:20 pm. First Friday 12: 00 pm – 4:00 pm. Second Friday RDO scheduled. Must be flexible to work a reasonable number of public holidays
