We’re recruiting a new team of casuals to support our Early Education Centres in a range of roles including educators, cooks, and cleaners.

About the Role

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking Diploma Educators to join our Early Education & Child Protection team on a casual basis. In this role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality education and care for children from birth to six years, supporting their wellbeing and learning every day.

You’ll be hands-on, engaging with and supervising children, assisting with daily routines and maintaining a safe, clean environment. You’ll contribute to engaging, play-based educational programs tailored to each child’s interests and development, while working closely with families and the team.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality, play-based learning programs for children aged 0–6. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes curiosity and engagement. 
  • Act as the Responsible Person when required, providing guidance and support to other team members. 
  • Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and centre operations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Diploma in Education and Care 
  • Current First Aid qualification (HLTAID012)
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • Current Child Protection Training (CHCPRT025)
  • A solid understanding of the NQF, including EYLF, NQS, and relevant legislation 
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills when acting as the Responsible Person

  • Package: $44 - $46 gross per hour plus 12% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Casual hours. Applicants must be able to work a range of shifts from 6am - 7pm.
