About the Role
Sutherland Shire Council is seeking Early Education Centre Cleaners to join our Early Education & Child Protection team on a casual basis. In this role, you’ll play a vital role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children, families and staff. As a casual cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining hygiene across classrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and staff areas, following a set cleaning schedule and approved health and safety procedures. Your work supports the smooth operation of our early childhood centres and helps provide a positive space where young children can learn and grow.
What You’ll Do
- Perform daily cleaning tasks across all areas of the Early Childhood Centre, including classrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and staff spaces
- Use cleaning products safely and follow established procedures to meet health, hygiene, and infection control standards.
- Monitor and report maintenance issues and ensure cleaning supplies are stocked.
- Adhere to safe work practices and Council’s policies, including Code of Conduct and safety rules.
What You’ll Bring
- NSW Working with Children Check.
- Previous experience in commercial or childcare cleaning preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures and hygiene standards.
- Good attention to detail and awareness of health and safety practices.

- Package: $34 - $36 gross per hour plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Casual hours. Applicants must be able to work a range of shifts from 6am - 7pm.
