As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled Team Leader for our Financial Planning and Analysis team to help drive strategic initiatives and support our organisational objectives.

About The Role

The Team Leader for Financial Planning and Analysis will manage a specialist team, ensuring that financial planning functions adhere to the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework. This role involves overseeing annual budget development, conducting quarterly budget reviews, and facilitating long-term financial planning initiatives.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with various business departments, providing financial insights and tools that enhance decision-making processes. You will be responsible for developing best practise reports and financial models to support strategic business decisions and assess key risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Financial Planning and Analysis team, aligning goals with Council objectives.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centric service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Council policies and industry best practises in budget management.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide expert financial advice to the Chief Financial Officer and other leadership groups.
  • Support team members' professional development through training and mentoring.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong background in financial planning and analysis, with proven experience in business partnering and leading high-performing teams. You will have a track record of developing strategies that anticipate changing environments and drive effective decision-making.

  • Full membership of CPA Australia or CAANZ.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial business partnering services.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills in customer service-focused teams.
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
  • Technical accounting skills relevant to the role.
