About the Role
The Accounting Officer supports the Council’s accounting functions to ensure compliance with organisational and legislative requirements. This role involves owning the bank reconciliation process, managing General Ledger Balance Sheet accounts, assisting with the preparation of financial statements, and supporting cash and investment management.
You will also facilitate statutory surveys, conduct reconciliations, and assist with end-of-year audit processes. Your contribution will be vital to maintaining accurate financial records and enhancing the efficiency of financial systems.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a motivated individual with a keen interest in accounting and finance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Tertiary qualification (or working towards) in accounting, commerce, business, or a related field is essential.
- High level of IT literacy and familiarity with accounting information systems.
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders.

- Package: $78,717 - $83,439 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time. You will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system.
